Mosto Announces Impending Closure

In another blow for Beijing's F&B industry, Mosto has announced that they're in their final days and will be closing soon.

In a message on WeChat, Mosto co-owner Alex Molina broke the news:

“After 18 unforgettable years, it's time for us to say goodbye. We're in our last days, and we'd love to celebrate them with you!

This weekend we've got special deals, music, and the classic Mosto vibes the perfect excuse to swing by, raise a glass, and make a few more memories together.

Thank you, Beijing, for 18 incredible years. Let's make these last days just as amazing as the journey we've shared!”

As this is Mosto's final weekend, you've got one last chance to head over there and bid Mosto adieu.

First opened back in 2008 by longtime Beijing expat Eva Biörck, her husband, Molina, and business partner chef Daniel Urdaneta, over the years, Mosto has become a stalwart in Beijing's F&B industry; however, their 18 years in the capital have not been the smoothest ride.

Originally housed inside Nali Patio, they were almost forced to close permanently back in June 2022 following the Nali Patio fiasco, where the outgoing landlord partly demolished parts of the building. Due to the havoc, Mosto was forced to temporarily close but didn't have the needed cash flow to reopen. Luckily, the Beijing community rallied behind them, successfully launching a fundraiser to get them money to reopen in July 2022.

However, in a cruel act of fate (and feelings of déjà vu), it was announced in 2023 that Nali Patio would be closing for good on Jul 31 of that year. Later in 2023, Mosto then reopened in the Mix Island complex located just east of Tuanjiehu, which has been their home for the past two years.

We, for one, will certainly be sad to bid Mosto goodbye, and we encourage everyone who has had the pleasure of visiting to swing by this weekend for one final farewell.
