A Handful of Events to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo
Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo a Mexican holiday celebrating the triumph of the people of Puebla over the French, which doubles as a great excuse to go have some fun, drink margaritas and stuff your face with Mexican food. Although Saturday for many of you is a make-up day, why not still enjoy a few casual drinks or some food from one of the venues offering Cinco de Mayo deals?
Q Mex
All of Q Mex’s locations will be offering up special deals for Cinco de Mayo tomorrow from 5pm-close. All Margaritas are RMB 45, all Bulldogs are RMB 65 and, if you don’t have work or don’t care about being hung-over, a tray of six tequila shots are RMB 55. The Sanlitun branch of Q Mex will also have a live DJ set from DJR.

Las Musas
Las Musas will be celebrating Mexico’s victory over the French the whole weekend with their deals running from May 5-7. They’re offering House Tequila Shots for RMB 20 and pitchers of their Agua Fresca Margaritas for only RMB 100.

El Barrio
Bringing a double celebration, El Barrio are combining Cinco de Mayo with their Rooftop Grand Opening. They’ll be hosting a party called Fridas and Luchas starting on May 5 at 7pm and May 6 at 3pm. There will be special prices on margaritas all night long and the dress code for the event is tropical, flowers, or Frida Kahlo or Mexican wrestler "luchador". They’ll also have DJs Arquitect and EnnoeAlpha blasting some Latin tunes.

The Local
The Local are serving up Cinco de Mayo deals tomorrow from 2-8pm. Tacos (barbacoa, carnitas or baja fish) are RMB 15, Frozen Margaritas (classic, mango or raspberry) are RMB 40 and there are special offers on Tequila Shots: Jose Cuervo RMB 25, 1800 Silver RMB 35, 1800 Reposado RMB 35, 1800 Añejo RMB 45.
