To Try List: 1001 Nights Reopens, New Burger Pop-Up in SLT & More
Our To Try List covers new restaurants, dining deals, drinks discounts, guest shifts, pop-ups, and more foodie happenings in Beijing.
One Thousand and One Nights Reopens in T+ Mall, Circle Urban opens a smash burger pop-up, Gung Ho returns to Shuangjing and more in our To Try List this week.
One Thousand and One Nights Moves to T+ Mall
After One Thousand and One Nights, along with a handful of other restaurants located along the strip near Tunajiehu subway station, closed at the end of last year, it was unclear what the future held for some of these long-established eateries. Well, for One Thousand and One Nights, at least, we have good news! About a month ago, they reopened at their new location inside the T+ Mall in Sanlitun.
Their news spot boasts a large space spread out across two separate dining areas, and they even have a coffee window if you want to get yourself some Arabic coffee to go. The space itself has the same Arabian feel as their previous location, with arched doorways, tiled floors and decorative stained glass lights.
Foodwise, the menu remains largely the same as at their original location, with lots of BBQ and kebab options, like the Mixed Grill (RMB 558), Antab Kebab (RMB 75) and Iranian Kebab (RMB 98), plus plenty of mains, appetizers – including numerous hummus variations – salads and more.

Circle Urban Opens Smash Burger Pop-Up in T+ Mall
In other news related to the T+ Mall, Circle Urban has recently opened a pop-up in the basement called Circle Burger Lab. Here they specialize in smash burgers, with offerings like the Double Double (RMB 38), Mexican Burger (RMB 42) or their super popular Black Pineapple Beef Burger (RMB 48). To pair with your burger, they also have a range of fries from normal French Fries (RMB 15) to other flavors such as Nori Fries (RMB 18) and Garlic Fries (RMB 18), as well as soft drinks. The pop-up will only be running until Mar 31, so you've still got a few weeks left to try it out.

Gung Ho!'s Shuangjing Branch Now Officially Open
You may have seen on our WeChat Channel that Gung Ho! has made a triumphant return to Shuangjing. Opening up inside the Space 3 Mall, which is also home to Q MEX's Shuangjing location, they had their official grand opening last Saturday (Mar 8). At their new Shuangjing branch, you can get their usual array of high-quality pizzas, pasta, salads and more. Personally, we like to keep things classic with their Pepperoni (RMB 89), although we're also pretty big fans of the Lord of the Lambs (RMB 119) and the Chicken with Bell Pepper (RMB 89). If you can't decide on your topping, don't forget that you can choose to do a Half and Half Pizza as well.

Slowboat Launches New Seasonal Burger Series
Slowboat has recently started a new Seasonal Burger Series, where they will feature a new seasonal burger that will be available across all locations but only for one month. For Volume One, they've got the Cluck Norris Chicken Burger, which you might remember as an exclusive burger they created for last year's Juicy Burger Fest. The burger is inspired by Chuck Norris, who they jokingly say "went to McDonalds, ordered a Slowboat burger ... and got it." It features braised chicken that is finished on the grill and then topped with their house-made spicy chili relish, a mix of pickled and fresh onions, guacamole, and crispy chicken crackling. The Cluck Norris Chicken Burger will only be available this month, so you'd better grab it while you've got the chance!
