How to Beat the Hot Temps This Spicy Fest Weekend

Things are heating up for our annual Hot & Spicy Festival this weekend, figuratively and literally. Weather forecasts show temperatures are set to be at around 34-36 degrees Celsius for both days of the event, meaning the food from our 40+ vendors and the banging entertainment aren't the only things that are going to be hot.

Thankfully, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves this year to ensure the heat just stays on your tastebuds.

The first is the theme: Summer of Spice, which isn’t inspired by summertime at the beach for no reason at all! Come dressed in your best beachwear – trunks, bikinis, and other summery outfits – and welcome the spice of summer. Read more about how to dress for the fest here.

Plus, our vendors have brought with them means to cool off as well. Think ice cold beer, creamy gelato, cooling cocktails, and other iced beverages as well. You can find some of the options available in the first of our vendor posts, with the second post coming soon.

The final special thing, and by far the most impressive, comes in the form of the aptly named Cool-Lax Zone. Featuring a variety of means by which to keep cool in the heat, it’s the perfect place to keep cool and relax (see what we did there?).

Done in collaboration with events group SNST, who are known throughout Beijing for their meticulously planned epic pool parties, the Cool-Lax zone features a tent filled with water misters, plus umbrellas, fans, and even cannons that shoot cooling foam.

As well as the Cool-Lax Zone, there will be plenty of umbrellas dotted all around the venue to give you some shade too. CHEERS will also be setting up their own misting zone by their booth, so if you want to grab yourself one of their delicious alcoholic beverages like a Spicy Sparkling Margarita or Spicy Vodka Lemonade and cool off at the same time, you know where to go!

And our friends at SNST aren’t just doing a place to chill off, but a party to let off some steam after the fest as well.

Following the fest on both Saturday and Sunday, head to Mars Skyline in 798 – a ten minute walk from the Spicy Fest venue – for a spicy after-party co-organized by SNSTLTN Fire and C Baila.

The best part? Entry to the event is free on both days for Spicy Fest attendees! Read more about it here.

In spite of the hot weather coming this weekend, rest assured you’ll have more ways than one to beat the heat! This Summer of Spice, you can let the heat of chili fire dance on your tastebuds while keeping the heat of the sun outside at bay.
