The fest, brought to you by hot sauce brand TABASCO ®, will be taking place Jun 29-30 at C7 Light Theater Outdoor Square, in Universal Creative Park (UCP) located just north of 798 Arts District.

This fiery celebration promises to bring together heat enthusiasts from all corners, offering a tantalizing array of spicy dishes and bold flavors from 40+ vendors serving up cuisine from across the globe that will knock your socks off! There will also be plenty of icy drinks, ice cream and more to help cool down both your tongue and your whole body!
Our annual Chili Pepper Eating Contest will also be making a return, and whether you’ve got the bravado to sign up or just want to witness some faces turning redder than a ripe habanero it’s guaranteed to be an event you don’t want to miss! We’ll have more info on how contestants can sign up closer to the day of the fest. As well as the Chili Eating Contest we'll have plenty of other entertainment from DJs to dancing to live music and more fun to make this the hottest weekend of the year!
Our lovely Hot & Spicy Fest mascot Chew La La the Chinese tree shrew will also be making a return.
The Theme
This year the theme for Hot & Spicy Fest is Summer of Spice! We want to see your spiciest and most cooling summer outfits – think shorts, tank tops, summer dresses, beachwear, flip flops etc. – because not only is the food going to be hot hot hot but the weather too. Don’t worry about the heat though! We will have numerous measures in place at the venue to help you cool off, so you may also want to wear clothes that you can get wet.
The Venue
C7 Light Theater Outdoor Square is conveniently located in Universal Creative Park (UCP), just a stone’s throw north of 798 Arts District. UCP, formerly known as Beijing Panasonic Color Picture Tube Co., Ltd. is mostly made up of large industrial buildings that are relics from the '80s.
The park is an innovation hub for the integration of science and technology and culture, focusing on the introduction of five types of business formats: a cultural and art exhibition center, a cultural industry marketing settlement center, a film director creation center, an information media center and an international corporate culture expo center.
