Beijing foodies and boozies, rejoice! Great food and drink events in the capital await this weekend and in the coming weeks! From a Thai festival to a Jamaican barbecue, beer games, a fiesta day and more there are plenty of events to keep you (and your belly) happy.
Baan Koon Thai Food & Culture Festival 2024
Fans of Thai cuisine will love this special Thai Food and Culture Festival happening this weekend from Apr 26-28. The event will celebrate both the recent Songkran Festival, aka Thai New Year, and the 15th anniversary of Thai restaurant Baan Koon. The festival is co-organized by Thai Embassy and Baan Koon. Formerly known as Laburnum and previously located on the west side of the Worker’s Stadium, Baan Koon reopened on Jianguo Lu last year. This isn’t the first time the two have partnered up, having organized the Thai Cultural Festival at Gongti together 14 years ago.
Baan Koon recently started a strategic partnership with South East Asian restaurant brand MULU and at the festival they will be there along with some of Beijing’s best Thai restaurants serving up a whole range of authentic Thai dishes. As well as delicious Thai food there will also be a variety of Thai cultural performances like traditional Thai music and dancing and Thai boxing.
The event will take place at Avic Garden Plaza and is completely free! You just need to register which day you wish to attend in advance by scanning the QR code in the poster above.
