We're Hiring! A Day in the Life of the Beijinger Managing Editor

Yes! The Beijinger staff have a spot opening up for a managing editor. As far as jobs in the capital that keep life interesting and help you grow connections, it's hard to beat this one. In our 20-year long history, it's hard to find an editor that hasn't gone on to do amazing things.

More importantly, it's never a dull day at the Beijinger. Here's a peek into a day in the life of this publication's managing editor:

Keeping a finger on the pulse of the city

No English-language publication keeps up to date on Beijing's going on like the Beijinger, especially when it comes to food, nightlife, issues that affect foreigners in the city, and English-speaking communities. You'll always know about the latest openings, hottest goss, and breaking news.

Write, write write!

Many managing editor positions stay focused entirely on the editing. Not so at the Beijinger! While shaping the voice of the publication as a whole, you'll have plenty of opportunities to have your own voice heard on the blog.

The best part is that you get to write about what you're interested in! This is a position that allows for and encourages endless creativity.

Leading the team

You'll also get to oversee a crack team of full-time and freelance editors, guiding and navigating the publication through an ever-changing media environment.

Getting out about town

It ain't all office work! Beijinger editors get out on the town, whether it's grabbing the latest scoop, snagging an interview, or catching up on the latest around town.

You should have the creativity and curiosity to hunt down the stories that make living in this city great, and a competitive edge that likes to get the scoop.
