Guest Shifts, Beer Launches + More BJ Booze Stuff

The weekend is fast approaching and there are a great many things to try in regards to booze – be it beer, mulled wine, cocktails, or other spirits. This is a little list of our favorites we think you should definitely check out.

Sipping Your Art at Hotel Eclat

Boutique hotel, Hotel Eclat is no stranger to mixing art with food and drink, as their signature eatery George’s Restaurant can attest. Now, they’re mixing art with mixology this Friday night for their “Sipping Your Art” event at George’s Bar. On the night guests will be able to enjoy three cocktails prepared by two artist bartenders: DJ and mixologist Uncle the Strange (UTS), and painter and mixologist Frankie Zou. The drinks will be paired with a DJ set by UTS and an oil painting showcase by Zou, making this one boozy artsy evening.

Sipping Your Art is taking place on Friday, Dec 13 from 9 to 11pm. Spots are RMB 188 early bird and RMB 264 at the door. Book your spot by scanning the QR code on the poster.

Our Beijing’s Saturday Mulled Wine Crawl

One thing you can be sure of every Christmas is that everyone and their mother is making mulled wine or variants thereof. In order to get the most out of this mulled wine wonderland, Our Beijing has put together a self-guided mulled wine route to be experienced this Saturday only.

Why only this Saturday? Because there are a lot of Christmas markets going on this weekend which overlap on Dec 14 making for a nice means of wandering about and getting tipsy in the ‘tongs. Stops include the Hutong’s Winter Fayre, Aotu Space’s Xmas Market, and a nice finish to the day at Gulou bar Timekeepers x Ball House. Read all about the route here and plan accordingly!

Marble Arch Brewery & El Rey Mezcal at The Factory

The Factory is leaning in big on beer and spirits this weekend, kicking things off with the arrival of Manchester craft brewing pioneers Marble Arch in China. They’ll be bringing with them 14 beers in total to the event: four classics, four new releases, and six premium aged bottled beers. Come in a team of eight, get eight and finish it first to get bottles and merch.

Later in the day, El Rey Mezcal teams up with The Factory and Black Hole to bring the Tres Tres Tres Tasting. It's an opportunity to learn a bit about the agave spirit, try three mezcals, and three cocktails, all while munching on three tacos plus other snacks while you’re at it.

The Marble Arch Takeover is happening on Saturday, Dec 14 from 2pm at The Factory. Entry is RMB 99 for one can of beer, RMB 199 for a premium aged bottle, RMB 360 for a four-pack of cans, and RMB 640 for an eight-pack. Read more and sign up here.

The Tres Tres Tres Tasting is taking place on the same day (Dec 14) from 6.30pm to 9pm. Entry is RMB 333. Read more and sign up here.

Slowboat’s Maple-Packed Imperial Brown Ale

Slowboat has a beer fit for winter in the form of their Strategic Reserve Maple Syrup Vanilla Imperial Brown Ale. It’s a lovely dessert of a beer combining Canadian maple syrup with vanilla bean, coming in with a nice caramel color and malt notes that perfectly balance the other flavors. Find it on tap at all Slowboat locations for RMB 60 a pint, or online in 330ml cans.
