1,000 Free Burgers up for Grabs at the Grand Opening of Royal Stacks, Sep 29
If you know anything about the Beijinger, then you’ll know that we really, really love burgers. In fact, the only thing we love more is free burgers so you can be sure that we’re excited about the grand opening of Aussie burger chain Royal Stacks this Sat, Sep 29, when they will be giving away 1,000 free burgers!
Royal Stacks is Beijing’s latest and hottest new burger joint and one of the top burger chains in their native Australia. With four locations across Victoria and New South Wales, Royal Stacks have now opened their first Beijing branch in the Vanke Times Center near Shilipu. This may be an Aussie chain but don't expect to be smacked across the face with cuddly koalas and Crocodile Dundee memorabilia; instead, the Aussie connection comes through in elements such as the pasture-fed, GMO-free, antibiotic-free, and hormone-free (pause for breath) Australian beef that makes up 100 percent of their burger patties. In fact, the design of the restaurant is more "retro '50s-diner-meets-Madrid-tapas-bar" (as described by Beijinger editor – and Aussie — Anna Pellegrin-Hartley in her recent review), featuring Instagrammable murals by Melbourne artist Jasmin Mansbridge.
With more than 10 burgers on offer, Royal Stacks offers something for everyone, whether you like your burgers simple or stuffed with toppings. We love The King, with its hefty mac 'n' cheese croquette layer, and The Saint, which boasts double patties, bacon, chipotle mayo, and pickled jalapeños. Whichever burger you choose, they all come on light, soft buns baked next door in the adjoining bakery. Don't forget to order a side of potato gems, a fresh, homemade take on Tater Tots that will tip your meal firmly over into food coma status.
As an Aussie burger joint, we were initially surprised that Royal Stacks didn't have a burger with beetroot on the menu but we don't have to worry any longer because they have recently added the Beijinger, an Aussie-style burger topped with American cheese, bacon, a fried egg, and, most importantly, pickled beetroot. Beetroot started regularly appearing on burgers in Australia in the 1940s and have since become a staple ingredient. You can thank the aforementioned Aussie editor for convincing them to add that on the menu (hence the name)!
From 11am on Saturday, Sep 29, Royal Stacks is giving away 1,000 free Single Stack burgers (usually valued at RMB 45). At 2pm, they will hold a grand opening ceremony attended by Bruneian actor, singer, and model Wu Chun, who you may recognize as a member of Taiwanese Mandopop boy band Fahrenheit. The burger giveaway runs all day from 11am-10pm but we recommend getting there early as we’re sure a lot of people will be taking advantage of this deal!
