Sherpa's Beijing Marketing Guru Praises Tavola, Ramo and Pizza Plus, Among Others
With voting in the first round of the 2015 Pizza Cup now underway (cast your ballot here), we continue to query Beijingers from all walks of life on their pizza preferences with our Pizza My Mind series. We talk to Beijinger Hailie Song, marketing manager of the Beijing branch of Sherpa's food delivery service.
"I've been working in the food and beverage industry for more than eight years, so I've tried a lot of different pizza from lot of different places," says the 28-year-old Sanlitun resident, who estimates that she dines on pizza twice per month.
Here are Hailie's picks for some of Beijing's best pies:
For an important business meeting where money is no object:
"It depends on where you are meeting – I'd say go to Tavola in Liangmaqiao, or Sureno in Sanlitun. Sureno's pizzas are a nice good size, and very tasty of course. They are both very nice places to treat your business guest to a very special lunch or dinner."
For a pint out with the gang:
"I love to hang out with my good friends at Ramo, because of the hutong vibe. Try the signature parma ham pizza there, I highly recommend it. And, of course, they have lots to drink with Vedett, Jing-A, and plenty of other choices."
For home delivery when you're too lazy to make dinner:
"I like to order Pizza Plus' Forest pizza or Gung Ho barbecue chicken pizza. If I get bored with my regular favorites, I order from some of the places that I work with at Sherpa's – we do delivery for some great pizza restaurants that don't deliver themselves, such as La Pizza, Bottega, and Pizza by LMPlus.
Also, Ramo has recently started a special promotion with Sherpa's: 12-inch classic pepperoni pizza for only RMB 29 every Thursday – that's half off their regular price."
