Together For Giuseppe: A Fundraising Event for La Pizza’s Giuseppe De Stefano, Jul 15

Giuseppe De Stefano has been a pillar of Beijing’s culinary and Italian communities for many years as the chef of La Pizza. Sadly, he’s been hospitalized since Jun 27 and is in critical condition. His medical bills are racking up quickly and his friends are reaching out on his behalf to help cover the cost. The doctors have estimated the cost of his treatment to be around RMB 730,000.

On Thursday, Jul 15 restaurants all over Beijing are joining together for one united fundraising evening called Together For Giuseppe. Each restaurant is donating a table that evening and the proceeds from that table will be used to help cover Giuseppe’s recovery costs. After party starts at 9pm at Migas, with free entrance and DJ lineup.

Participants shall purchase their drinks from a special drinks menu with alcohol donated by suppliers. All proceeds will go to charity for Giuseppe’s hospitalization costs.

About Giuseppe

Giuseppe De Stefano has been hospitalized after he developed a septic infection requiring multiple operations, blood transfusions and intensive care. His situation has now stabilised, but still requires appropriate care. Family and friends are seeking help to cover Giuseppe’s recovery costs.

The latest information shared by Gennaro Miele, Giuseppe’s friend and proxy, as Giuseppe’s family is not in Beijing, on July 12th evening:

"Dear friends of Giuseppe, I share with you that today Giuseppe opened his eyes and reacted to my presence next to him. He still need treatments and therefore fundraising initiatives continue. Thank you everyone for your amazing support!"
