Weekend Live Music Roundup: Queen Sea Big Shark, Punk Rock KTV, Joyside?
The time of the year that the crowd phobia hits me the most is coming, which means I'll need to hide deep in the loudness of rock & roll to forget about the costumed world. Nevertheless I will still probably costume a little on Sunday to get free entry into D-22, since I have been haunted by the phrase "Punk Rock KTV" for almost a month now. So I checked out their playlist for the night (the Beat Happening part is canceled), which looks like it will be pretty satisfying.
If Halloween parties are all you care about this weekend, you can leave this page by clicking here. Otherwise, you keep reading for two pieces of very good news:
1. One year after the break up, Joyside's front man Bian Yuan is back to the scene. He has started a new band with female keyboard player Chen Yue, who plays extremely slow and quiet piano tunes in her solo work. Their band Far Side of the Moon will debut tonight at ByeBye Disco, the bar of New Pants' front man Pang Kuan.
2. Queen Sea Big Shark have finally finished recording their new album Wave and they are ready to present their new songs at Yugong Yishan on Saturday.
Wait, I almost forgot that Faye Wong is back too, and the Wukesong Arena will be occupied by her the whole weekend.
