Are You a Budding Graphic Designer? Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Starts Search for Emblem
With the 2016 Olympics in Rio set to kick off this Friday, Beijing has now officially launched an international contest to find an emblem for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The day of the announcement, July 31, also marked the one-year anniversary of our city winning the bid alongside Zhangjiakou in Heibei province.

The announcement was made at the Badaling section of the Great Wall, inviting people around the world to submit their designs before November 30. At the same time the organizing committee's website was launched, which reads:
The emblems of Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games are important visual-image elements of Beijing 2022 Olympic, as well as an important vehicle for demonstrating the concepts of Beijing 2022 and the Chinese culture.
Key words for design include some confusing phrases such as "joyful rendezvous upon pure ice and snow," "run the games in a green, open, shared and honest manner," as well as some leader concepts that are easier to understand such as "sustainable development" and "cohesion, sport, strength."
Submissions will open soon, so if you're interested keep your eye on the official website.
