MoxiMoxi Celebrates First Anniversary: Let There Be Hummus, Live Music, and Drinks, Apr 16

Israeli hutong eatery MoxiMoxi has come a long way in the past year, opening with just one sarnie on the menu, the sabich, and going on to survive Beijing's winter. Since those early days they've expanded their menu and filled our ears with the sounds of Israeli trance, as well as kept us on our toes with hutong collaboration events and have remained one our favorite places for cheap eats in the capital.

These feats call for a one-year celebration and street party, set for April 16, 2-6pm, in the small space where it all began on Fangjia Hutong. At 2pm, Zhege (J个) will take the stage, a Beijing-inspired English pop rock band at with Slavic inspiration and a touch of Latin, alongside MIRS, a 90s-inspired hip-hop and pop-rock artist. Then at 4pm, DJ D.A.S. will get his live psytrance tunes rolling.

They'll also be serving a special hummus menu, as well as their usual products, and to congratulate them, their neighbors, Cellar Door, Jiao Bar, and Hot Cat Club will have special drink promotions throughout the day.
