Afternoon Tea Like the Queen with Versace at Sureño, The Opposite House
When the Queen has afternoon tea, we imagine it to be complete with Versace spoons, china, and of course, wonderful treats of both the savory and sweet variety, tiered on top of each other. Sureño's current afternoon tea, in cooperation with Versace, is exactly like that, and also makes you want to stick your little pinky high up in the air.
The treats are inspired by Versace's bold designs, combining creativity with the Sureño chefs' exceptional culinary skills. A favorite was the caramelized apple tart, with its perfect balance of sweet and sour, as well as the vanilla raisin scones – moist and laden with plump raisins and served with Devonshire clotted cream, wildflower honey, and executive pastry chef Frank Istel's own homemade strawberry vanilla jam.
This tea isn't alone for the ladies though, as demonstrated by the many middle-aged men enjoying their treats. If you like the finer things in life, this will most definitely do the trick.
If you're looking to treat yourself, head to Sureño before this limited edition afternoon tea ends on April 30. The set costs RMB 288 (plus 15 percent service charge) per person, and is available every day between 3-5pm. With your tea, you get an exclusive gift from Versace Home (which is probably worth more than your afternoon tea costs), and an exclusive offer at Versace Taikoo Li Sanlitun boutique.
