Talking Pints: Slow Boat Anchors as Dance Doyens Descend on Beijing

Just a tiny bit longer. After tomorrow (for most of us), the splendor of Golden Week will shine down on all of us. If we can just get Saturday out of the way. Will you risk just going at it tonight anyway?

Digitalism certainly give you reason to. The German electro duo play tonight as part of a Lantern-sponsored Teutonic dance raid this weekend. Booka Shade finish us off on Sunday with their first ever Beijing show. Tickets are still available for both shows.

Slow Boat Brewery has finally dropped anchor. They opened the doors to their new Qianmen brewery yesterday. Located on Tieshu Hutong, they offer six beers on tap including their latest drop, Flying Whale IPA. A local artisan food group are complementing the brew with authentic shaobing.

The popular Dim Sum Disco party night at Haze celebrates its one-year anniversary in November. They'll be celebrating surviving a whole year of drinking, dancing and debauchery with a party featuring DJs Tobias Patrick, Boflex and Donald Summer on November 3.

Swedish dance duo Rebecca & Fiona have been causing quite a stir in Scandinavia. In just over two years, the pair have put out a debut album, had a reality TV crew trailing them and have become the face of Adidas Originals in their homeland. Additionally, they've performed with the likes of DJ Tiësto and played the main stage at the Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium. They're currently tearing up the dance floors of Australia, but are set to touch down in Asia on their way back. They'll hit Spark in Beijing on October 11. If the hype is to be heeded, it could be quite a show.

Hidden Lounge are celebrating the purchase of a new mini-cinema with a special launch party on Saturday night. RMB 150 gets you all-you-can-drink "beer, jungle juice, frozen drinks and classics" until 10pm, and free tucker as well. They'll also be testing their new setup with some blockbusters throughout the night. All they ask is that you RSVP at rsvp@hiddencbd.com so they know how much food to prepare.

Finally, tbj Bar Personality of the Year nominee Andy Bright took a bit of a tumble and broke his ankle earlier this week. We're sure the Union Bar & Grill gaffer will be up and about before too long, but we'd just like to wish him the best in his recovery.

Until next time, enjoy your weekend.
