Booze News: Ping Dynasty Cider Cocktails at the Intercontinental, New Jing-A and Slow Boat Brews

Feeling thirsty? Wet your whistle with Booze News, our wrap-up of the week's best bar deals, parties, drink concoctions, industry gossip, and more.

Grand Opening Luga's Dongzhimen

After two months of ridiculous beer deals, Luga's are ready to christen their new Dongzhimen brewery with arguably their craziest beer deal yet: RMB 66 all you can drink between 5-11pm. There'll also be a raffle with a top prize of RMB 3,000. Expect the wildness to spill into the streets, much like the beer. RMB 66. 5-11pm. Luga's Brewery & Bistro

Jing-A's New Guava IPA

Though we're a world away from Mexico, Jing-A's latest IPA gives you a taste of the Central American country's fruit juice: guava. The brewer's new Death By Guava clocks in at 7 percent ABV and costs RMB 50, and aside from a generous dose of guava juice, which gives the brew a plush flavor, the drink will also feature a blend of tropical aroma hops which complement the juice and make it a true summer beer. Death by Guava will be available starting Friday, Jul 26, and the first 50 people to order a pint will be given a second pint to take home for free.

Slow Boat's New Sour Plum Saison

If you like beers that make you pucker up, then this brew's for you. Made with freshly juiced sour plums that give the beer a beautiful ruby hue and fruity flavor, Slow Boat is touting this newly available Huaiweimei Suanmeitang Saison (RMB 50, 5 percent ABV) as a great way to beat the summer heat. Along with its tart main ingredient, the beer is rounded out with smoked malt, haw, licorice root, and hibiscus to give it slightly spicy undernotes, while "kettle souring packs the tartness in."
