Juice-Making Robot Debuts in Line 19 Transfer Station: A juice and tea kiosk serviced entirely by a robotic arm and two small wheeled robots has been put into service in Line 19’s Ping’anli Station, according to Capital Construction News (首都建设报) and other local media. The new kiosk is part of a drive to implement new unmanned services in the Beijing Subway, with permits for other subway food making robots also in the works.
Beijing Officially Turns on Central Heating for Winter: The capital has turned on the heat as of Nov 15, just in time for temps to start dropping, reports Beijing Daily. The start of central heating follows testing runs around Beijing that began on Nov 7. This year, the heating area in urban parts of Beijing is over 1 billion square meters, of which the city’s residential centralized heating area is around 690 million square meters.
Capital Airport Express to Extend to Wangjing South Station: Construction will soon be underway for a Capital Airport Express extension, according to Beijing Daily. The extension and new transfer, which is expected to be completed in the next three years, will provide an airport connection for travelers in Wangjing via Line 14’s Wangjing South Station.
