Central Heating Cut Off Time Extended Amid Temperature Drop, Snow Forecast
The capital isn't out of the cold just yet – because despite all this nice weather we're having, Beijing's temperatures are expected to drop again this Thurday, Mar 17.
Beijing's meteorological authority predicts that the average temperature from Mar 16 to Mar 20 will hover around 2-3 ℃, which is significantly low for this time of year (temps are usually around 7.4℃ around March). What's more, this Wednesday we're gonna get a bit more snow as well.
The coming temperature drop has left many Beijingers wondering: Will the city extend its central heating?
Well, there's a bit of luck in that regard – as the city has decided to extend the shut off date for central heating from Mar 15 to Mar 22, a total of seven days, to keep Beijingers warm in their homes.
Brace for more snow
Meanwhile, back to the snow. Starting Mar 16, areas of central and eastern China will see temperature drops across the board, with Beijing set to have sleet or medium snow from Mar 16 to Mar 20.
But it's not all bad news, because according to the meteorological bureau, temperatures are expected to rise up again starting from Mar 21.
Either way, for Beijingers, all we’ve got to do is get through this week and then it won't be long before we will be able to walk around in short sleeves and shorts again.
