Yes , pain of dearth. Dearth really sucks.
"...and as our hero Budleigh Bewright drives his dog team across the tundra, Slathering Kawklash has finished knotting the last naugahyde noose. Will Little Nell Twittertytz be subjected to a fate worse than dearth? Tune in next week for another appalling episode of 'Timberland Trauma'!" (actual radioscript from the 1930's)
Seriously, the only fate worse than dearth is being deplatformed. That of getting more than a dozen "unfollows" in an hour
Speaking of dearth, death, dire, disease etc, ya ever notice how many words with negative connotations begin with the letter `D' , death, dire, disease, distress, etc. and etc, And these are not solely words of latinate origin. Also how many words dealing with stasis begin with `st' stuck, stand, stiffle, stick strand stop, stare, etc and many etc. The `s' sibillance immediately followed by the dental plosive `t' evokes this idea of stasis. I think. There was an amazing book I read at the Vancouver Public Library many years ago dealing with these subjects. The main contention is that all language is in someway onomatopoetic, and in a manner of speaking grow out of the world as life forms. I fail to remember either its name or its author. I wish I could.
Onomatopoetic? Is that a hard language to learn to speak? As a deeply committed and compassioning SJW, it is my dream to work for the liberation of Onomatopoeia and its proud people. Wherever it is and no how many problems they've been socialized into denying they have. It's probably a lot like Wakananda, but with LBGT-friendly vegan restaurants and government-subsidized police stations we the woke can torch when whim dictates.
Onomatopoeticismnessism is is defined clearly as the desire to make funny sounds that sound like sounds that you hear. So if you hear a sound, like someones ' ead jus get chopped off, well then you makes a sound like that sound, an then it becomes a word! So someones 'ead gets chopped off, maybe you 'ears the sound `chlthunk' Well there ya go, bobs yer uncle, ya just have a new word and have contributed to the progress and development of the bleedin English languishment.

Will there be any rum, thought of me, and/or the eyelash?"Enjoy all things British – from Pimms to Fish and Chips – at the residence of the British Ambassador. "(unquote)
Let me guess: the ambassador is out of town this week, globalizing with assorted eminences grises. So his teenage son decides PAAAAAARTY!!! Why it's enough to bring even a moping Markle out of a selbstmoerding tailspin, I'll wager.
