Beaujolais wine tasting at Union

Get an early and sophisticated start on the weekend with Union's exclusive Beaujolais wine tasting on Beaujolais Nouveau Day, Nov 19, 7-9.30pm. For the non-French among us, Beaujolais nouveau is a red wine produced in the Beaujolais region of France that is made from Gamay grapes. Traditionally, it is fermented for just a few weeks before being released for sale on the third Thursday of November, spurring a race for distributors to get the finest bottles. This year, The Opposite House's in-house sommelier will guide you through 12 varieties alongside bites to pair all for RMB 300. See the full lineup and details here.

Migas takeover at La Social

If cocktails are more your thing, La Social's weekly takeover series continues on Thursday. This time they'll host former Nali Patio neighbors Migas and bar manager James Bridle from 9pm onwards, who'll shake up some brand new creations inspired by flavors from "around the world," from Venezuela to China, for RMB 70-80 a pop. If you get peckish, chow down on one of Migas' "Choripan" chorizo hotdogs for RMB 45. Weekly drinks deals at Lush

Over in Haidian, Lush has refreshed their weekly Monday and Tuesday drinks deals with some stupidly cheap options. For example, Mondays are cocktail night, where RMB 20 gets you martinis, cosmopolitans, or peach cosmos, among other tipples, while Tuesdays are beer night, with RMB 10 off all imported beer priced RMB 45 and up.

Grow a mustache Movember and get a free shot

Finally, you'll need a little time to prepare for this drink deal: in true Movember fashion and to raise awareness for testicular cancer, anyone and everyone who can grow a sweet 'stache is invited to go unshaven until Nov 28, at which point your fine facial hair will win you a free shot and a picture on the Movember wall of fame at the final celebration party at Queenie's. We'll have more information on when the party will take place closer to the event.
