Booze News: 24|7 by Secoo and Little Creatures Close, Keith Motsi Returns to Four Seasons

Thirsty? Wet your whistle with Booze News, our wrap-up of the week's best bar deals, parties, drink concoctions, industry gossip, and more.

24|7 by Secoo and Little Creatures quietly close in The Crib

Things are not looking good over at Chunxiu Lu's The Crib, where businesses are dropping like flies. After last month's announcement that favorite healthy eats outlet Nooxo was closing, it seems like the upscale food court has lost two more big names: Australian craft brewers Little Creatures on the ground floor and cocktail bar Canvas, which had housed the 24|7 by Secoo concept, directly above. A source close to Little Creatures says that it pulled out due to the lack of care of the venue demonstrated by property management. You can read our recent take on The Crib in graf three of this article. Nevertheless, Little Creatures are said to be on the lookout for a new location elsewhere in Beijing.

Keith Motsi returns to Four Seasons for one night

The man who was considered the heart and soul of Four Seasons' award-winning bar Equis (which closed shortly after his departure from Beijing – coincidence, you decide), Keith Motsi (pictured at top) returns for one night only to the hotel that kickstarted his Asia adventure. This Friday, 7-11pm, Motsi will be shaking up sun-soaked cocktails like the Tahitian Beach, a sultry combination of blended whiskey, port wine, noni, Campari, banana, and aromatic bitters, or the Ms. Frida, an aromatic blend of blanco tequila, clarified grapefruit, lavender cordial, bergamot, and tonic. One of the most charismatic barmen to have swung through Beijing in recent years, if his drinks don't get you loose Motsi's infectious hosting certainly will. All cocktails are RMB 95 plus 15 percent service charge.

Estonian brewery Põhjala comes to Zhujingban

Over in Andingmen, this Saturday, Zhujingban will host Estonian craft beer brand Põhjala Brewery's CEO. Peeter Keek. Doors open at 4pm, where beerheads will be treated to a talk in English (with Chinese translation) as well as a full ten taps of Põhjala beers. There'll also be giveaways, and especially for the occasion, one keg of their award-winning Rye and Tequila Stout available for purchase – the only keg in the whole of China.

Ludicrous Single's Day deals at Luga's Dongzhimen

Remember when Luga's Dongzhimen launched, attracting people from far and wide with a set of absurd deals? Well, they're at it again on Monday for Single's Day with RMB 11 shots of Jagermeister, sambuca, and tequila all day and RMB 1 pints of their Sanlitun wheat beer between 7-9pm. Finally, all food on their new winter food menu will be half-price throughout. There's never been a better time to be single, messy drunk.

Now that you're liquored up, why not head to one of this weekend's many gigs.
