Aurora 1st Anniversary feat. Shir Khan
The one club keeping the Dirty Bar Street dream alive, Pancake Lee-run Aurora celebrates its one year anniversary this Friday with a set from Shir Khan (pictured at top), head honcho of Berlin's deep house label Exploited. They've also divided the club into two to allow double the beats. Mastermind presents Soulciety
This Friday, Mastermind Productions presents Soulciety, "a community for music lovers to gather, party, listen, and reconnect with soul, jazz, and funk music." This inaugural Zhao Dai gathering will be fronted by Fruityspace's Fruity Group, sending in their primo cratediggers V-Nutz, co-founder of Shanghai's Shelter club and the brains behind the long-running soul and funk party Soul Crates, as well DJ Watermelon, one of the capital's most respected vinyl collectors with a potentially unmatched arsenal of funk 45s. 10pm doors. Yellow Claw at One Third
This Dutch DJ duo are known for their wide-ranging mixes, including anything from trap to hip-hop, dubstep to big room house, hardstyle to moombahton "to make something that’s taken them from the Netherlands to Las Vegas to the mainstage of Tomorrowland 2017." Get Connected 4th Anniversary
Chengdu's Temple Rat comes to Lantern this Saturday (via Shanghai) to help the Get Connected crew celebrate their fourth anniversary. Weng Weng, Alex Guo, and Juliana Lima provide backup in the main room while Julia Fos, Jackson Lee, Aida, and O'Shawa keep things moving by the bar. RMB 50. 10.30pm. Lantern
Eskei83
Dresden's Eskei83 heads to Playhouse this Saturday for a taste of what got him the title of the first ever German to Red Bull Thre3style World Championships. Those skills have since taken him around the world multiple times, but when we spoke to him ahead of his set, he still ranks China as "one of my favorite countries to DJ in." Free. 10pm. Playhouse
Headhunterz
Hardstyle heavyweight Headhunterz comes to Gongti's Sir Teen for a night shots and pogoing. Having collaborated with big names in EDM such as W&W, Steve Aoki, and R3hab, the Dutch DJ has since returned to his hard, well, style and is likely to please followers of the genre he is credited with honing. 9pm doors.
