CecilBoyd's Phantasmagoria
Phantasmagoria is the result of a two-year collaboration between photographer Hubert Cecil and painter Will Boyd. The arists worked together to create intricate backgrounds within a lightbox before recruiting the help of well-known female models, designers, and fellow artists to pose. The images act to create a dialogue between the models themselves within an ascertained setting by the curators, making for visual images that are part trippy, part spooky. RMB 10. May 5-15. Intellectual Property Protection in China: Overview, Analysis, and Forecasts
This conference will discuss the recently released government white paper on IP protection in China, looking to answer questions regarding statistics on trademark and patent applications, statistics on judicial enforcement of IP, important policies put in place by the government, and some recent examples of IP protection. Tomb Raiders Hike and Ding Tomb's 'Underground Palace'
This Beijing Hikers hike will take the intrepid on a tour of an old hill trail in the mountains that form the fengshui barrier on the north side of the Ming Tombs in Changping District. The hill trail leads over the mountains, up to a lookout, out a valley past a small reservoir, and then on towards the tombs before a short drive to Ding Tomb, one of the largest Ming Dynasty tombs and the resting place of the Wanli Emperor.
