Indulge on Apr 1 Easter With These Afternoon Teas, Brunches, and Lunches
Easter isn't quite as big of a deal in Beijing as Spring Festival or Christmas (not actually being a public holiday here), but since it falls on a Sunday anyway then there's no reason not to treat yourself to one of the many brunches and afternoon teas going on around town (before or after mass, if that's your thing).
BRUNCHES
Beersmith
Hotel Jen's Beersmith will celebrate Easter much the same as how they celebrate every Sunday – with a massive roast. We're not complaining given that it's one of the best deals in town with unlimited access to their meats, sides, and desserts as well as an "as-you-want-it" egg station. They'll also use the occasion to release their newest "Draft Punk" brew, which will be on happy hour along with all their other beers through to 9pm. 11.30am-3pm. RMB 228, RMB 75 (children). Beersmith
The Brickyard Retreat Center
Escape from the city and head out to Mutianyu for a lavish buffet accompanied by live jazz. Dishes include carved Easter ham and eggs cooked to order. Make a weekend of it and stay over at The Brickyard the night before (one-night stay packages including transfers from Beijing priced at RMB 2,688). RMB 288 per person (brunch only). 11am-4pm.
