Where to Get Chocolate Eggs, Bunnies and Other Easter Goodies in Beijing

Only 24 hours till Easter Bunny arrival time ... are you stocked up for the hunt tomorrow? Easter hasn't caught on quite like Christmas and Halloween in the Northern Capital, so scoring chocolate eggs, bunny-shaped confections and other goodies can be challenging.

Here's a quick last-minute guide to stocking up on chocolates, jelly beans, white-shelled eggs, food coloring and more. And if you're looking for some place to celebrate, here's 42 Beijing easter events to get you started.

Comptoirs de France
Comptoirs de France has a good variety of fun Easter products, such as chocolate eggs, rabbits, chickens, hens, egg bells, and DIY cookie boxes that you can buy in store, and decorate at home with your family. Box sets are perfect for those without ovens. Goodies are available at all of their locations, although if you want to get more intricate Easter cakes you will have to place an order in advance. Prices range from RMB 58 for smaller rabbits to RMB 568 for large and intricate dark chocolate roosters.

Marks & Spencer
Marks & Spencer, as any British expat living in Beijing will know, loves to jump in on festivities with Easter eggs in all different shapes and sizes, with a range of different price tags. There’s even Hello Kitty and Frozen-themed eggs for the little ones, which come at a slightly higher price.

April Gourmet and Jenny Lou’s
April Gourmet and Jenny Lou’s are the places to get your jelly beans (RMB 17.50 for a 100g bag) just in time for Easter. This is also where you’ve got the best range of food coloring and white-shelled free-range eggs to set up your own Easter egg coloring station at home. There’s also plenty of cleaning supplies for afterwards …

Kempi Deli
The Kempinski at the Lufthansa Center’s Kempi Deli has a wide range of chocolate items available alongside their usual collection of baked goods and sweets, especially for Easter. Prices range from RMB 38 for Danish chocolate eggs to RMB 248 for a much larger and more intricate chocolate duck, with everything else in between.

Godiva
If you’re looking for over-the-top Easter eggs covered in sequins, then this is your place. A large sequin-smothered egg costs RMB 520, and smaller Easter eggs are RMB 200 for 100g, which is probably about six to seven eggs.

Kerry’s Pantry at the Kerry Hotel
Many Easter creations are on offer at Kerry’s Pantry at the Kerry Hotel, including this gigantic bunny for RMB 998 for the child who’s not easily scared …

The Sweet Spot by China World
