Goût de France Brings French Culinary Experience to Seven Beijing Restaurants Mar 21
Every year come March, Goût de France, or Good France, swoops into Beijing, allowing us to enjoy contemporary French cuisine at Beijing's top French restaurants. This year, the event kicks off on March 21, with seven local restaurants putting on a special menu for fans of French cuisine and providing an opportunity for newcomers to explore dishes that they may not have otherwise had access to.
The project, organized by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, features more than 1,000 French chefs across five continents, cooking dinner at participating restaurants.
This project is a way to show that French cuisine can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter what your budget. The French embassy in Beijing hope that the event will encourage Chinese diners and chefs to explore their conception of French cuisine.
This year, some of the Beijing participants include Heritage French Restaurant, Le Cabernet, Maison FLO, O'Steak, and S.T.A.Y.
All participants globally are asked to follow the same meal sequence: a traditional French appetizer; a starter; main course(s); a selection of French cheese; dessert and French wines and champagne.
A full list of participating restaurants worldwide, with menus and pricing, is available here in English, French and Chinese.
Brasserie FLO was a big winner in the Beijinger's 2016 Reader Restaurant Awards taking home a number of awards as well as being voted into the Dining Hall of Fame, following 17 years of fine dining in the city. Flo's six-course meal (RMB 668) will feature such delicacies as foie gras, Brie cheese, beef rib eye with black truffle sauce and Citrus and coconut verrine.
To make reservations, contact the participating restaurants directly, but don't hold out as spots will fill up.
