Ashton Kutcher Comes to Beijing for MacWorld Asia 2013

Steve Jobs never visited Beijing, but his onscreen likeness, Ashton Kutcher, arrives in our fair city on Thursday, Aug 22 as part of the MacWorld Asia 2013 event being held at the International Exhibition Center.

Kutcher will re-create Jobs' likeness from his legendary product launches at MacWorld events in California, such as this one from the launch of the original iPod in 2001.

The former That '70s Show and Two and a Half Men actor stars in the film's title role. Jobs hit cinema screens in many countries on Friday, Aug 16, although not here in China. No word yet on a possible local release for Jobs here. However, the film could prove popular, given the lines local consumers have endured to buy their favorite Apple products and the outpouring of sympathy at the Taikoo Li Apple Store upon his death in Oct 2011.

The chance to meet the Apple co-founder may be gone, but as the selfie below taken by our August issue profilee Stefen Chow shows, you might just meet CEO Tim Cook at the Apple Store in Beijing.
