Capital Bites: Migas in March, Oysters at Yi, La Taverne and Khajuraho
Migas' monthly specials board this month features a "Calçotada" menu, in homage to the green onions that are a Catalan spring tradition. The menu costs RMB 238 per head and features five courses: bread with tomato; fresh salad with oranges, olives, and mint; calçots with romesco sauce; black sausage and lamb rib with alioli; and Catalan cream to finish. The calçots will be served in the traditional style – eaten with the hands – so all diners will be given a bib to avoid getting messy.
Migas also launches a new dessert menu this month, courtesy of pastry chef Miquel Pascual (have a look at his website here). Chef Miquel will also be turning out fresh bread daily.
I went to La Taverne last weekend for the first time in about four years. Although the brunch menu is on the complicated side (the waiter seemed more confused than us), their bacon-and-eggs breakfast is a nice Gallic twist on the full English you'd find at the Vineyard. Photo below.
Every Friday, taste a little bit of luxury at Yi House Restaurant at Grace Beijing. RMB 450 will get you a dozen oysters and and two glasses of Chardonnay. RMB 235 gets you a half-dozen oysters with one glass of Chardonnay.
New Indian restaurant Khajuraho offers an RMB 36 business lunch with four dishes. Give it a try before Ganges opens in Shimao Department Store next month. Khajuraho is smaller and cozier than most Indian restaurants in town, and though the menu is also more limited they do have some interesting options like Bengali fish curry (RMB 56), Goan Prawn Curry (RMB 62) and Goan pork vindaloo (RMB 50). What I've tried has been decent enough, although as yet there's nothing to trouble Beijing's very best Indian restaurants. The portions of naan could be also be a little more generous. Room for improvement, but I'd like to see this place do well – and Sanlitun Soho needs some more variety of dining options. We're also still waiting for Pakistani restaurant Khan Baba to open up in Sanlitun Soho. More news when we have it.
Finally, time's running out for you to cast your votes in the Beijinger's 2012 Reader Restaurant Awards. The polls close on Monday, March 12. Vote here. Coincidentally enough, that's the same day that Beijing Restaurant Week gets underway – make your reservations here if you haven't done so already. Haven't heard about Beijing Restaurant Week? Get yourself up to speed with this interview with DiningCity boss Onno Schreurs.

Hi Sida,
There will indeed be a restaurant listing for Khajuraho very soon - sometime within the next seven days.
Looking forward to seeing your review.
Best,
