Weekend Live Music Roundup: Hedgehog, Rustic

What a lovely coincidence: Two beloved Beijing bands have decided to hold their album launches on the same night … and it’s tonight.

“Noise boys and girl” Hedgehog released their fourth studio album at the end of last month, but before showing it to us Beijingers, they decided to go on a national tour and present it to the whole country. Anyway, here they are again, all set to reveal their new works to you on Friday night over MAO Livehouse. But be prepared, their new songs won’t sound as upbeat as you remembered.

Not far from MAO, over Zhangzizhong Lu, Rustic release their debut album. It has been over a year since the punk trio won the Global Battle of Bands for Beijing, and this album was originally planned for release before the end of last year. Tonight the wait ends and they takes over Yugong Yishan for a celebration.

(Ps. It’s possible to catch both gigs if you go to MAO Livehouse first.)

And if you have no interest in either of the launches, there are more options:
