Wanted: Free Slave Labor

Well – not quite – but at least that got your attention. What we are looking for, however, are a few good interns. Yes, you will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment for virtually nothing*; but no, you will not dwaddle away your days fetching coffee and making photocopies.

What you will do instead is participate in the planning, research and writing of articles, blog posts and events for both the beijinger magazine and website. Better yet, if you have a particular niche or obsession – be it food, nightlife, shopping or sports – we can arrange it so that you get to write as much as possible about the things you care the most about.

What we get out of it is some much needed contributions to our continually growing stream of online and print content, and what you will ideally come away with is some solid professional and media experience, a collection of great writing clips and a rolodex full of new connections.

So go for it. Impress us with your cv and some samples or links to your blog and online articles to editor@thebeijinger.com. If you have a specific proposal for how you could contribute to the magazine and/or website, fire away.

And we promise, no lashings.

*Save for a small stipend we pay interns who work at least 20 hours a week.
