Peasants are a dime a dozen. Now Mrs. Tolstoi, .. just explain that 3 is better than two. When that cold Siberian wind is blowing, ya stick one in the middle, two on outer sides. 3 hour shifts in the middle. Life will be peachy.
Tolstoy had the right work/think ethic, (This maybe apocraphyl, I might jus be making it up, I don know) But from what I seem to remember was this plan.
Rise from bed around 5:30.
Meditate for 15 minutes.
Eat a nice plate of fried eggs and a coupla rashers of bacon, fried onions in the mix.
Go work from 6 am with the peasants hoeing the potatoes and etc. Hard physical labour.
Noontime come home, eat a big bowl of Greek Salad and some Borscht, slam two glasses of vodka, Then go have a nap.
Wake from nap 2:30 ish, have a cup of coffee. There after, read, write, and think, until dear wife has the roast beef dinner with mashed up potatoes ready. (maybe some yams, ther okay)
Then sit by the firelight, read the bible, smoke yer pipe, and obediently retire at a sound hour. The wife can knit if she so wishes.
There is no internet,there is no TV, there are no computers, there are no gaddam cell phones.
Now does someone know of a better life than this?
Cool. Where can I get some peasants? Also, my wife's liable to whinge when Mrs. Tolstoi starts sharing the bed.

Cultural Keys Spring Festival Presentation Series
Cultural Keys has been hosting cultural talks on the Spring Festival throughout the month of January, with two more talks scheduled: a talk on the days of Spring Festival on Jan 19 (tomorrow), and another on Chinese festivals to look forward to in 2023 on Jan 26.

Hutong Walking Tour and Calligraphy Class
Perfect for families staying in Beijing over the holiday, Beijing Experience will be hosting a special CNY activity series this Sunday. Following a one hour hutong walking tour, the calligraphy class will focus on Chinese New Year greetings as well as how to write the most common holiday-themed Chinese characters.
