Movie Magic: International Film Festival Back for Another Year
The Beijing International Film Festival is back for a third year and will be taking place from April 16 to April 23. Their website is now filling up with film titles from around the globe, names of judges and an impressive array of media partners. The festival was unveiled March 21 with emphasis on the new Trophy of Temple of Heaven Award, which they also call the Tiantan Award. This seems to be no more than a fancy name for the usual categories: Best Picture, Best Director etc…
There have also been rumors that the Iron Man 3 release, nearly a month away will be heavily promoted somehow at the festival with Robert Downey Jr. coming to town next week. Below is a list of nominated titles for the award. Screenings will take place at 26 commercial theaters around Beijing. Stay tuned for further details.
