I want to be fair here. This space could be great. The ingredients are there. Speak-easy-ish space, not too hard to find but not main drag, if you walked in with a date you’d feel good about yourself. But. But. The drinks. The cocktails themselves, they aren’t great. The Sazerac, the other takes on some classics, they’re not there. I never saw 5-6 people at the same table push their drinks back after the first order, thinking they just weren’t enjoyable. A cocktail bar isn’t a restaurant. You don’t get an amuse-bouche and an appetizer and a main course and a dessert to decide. This place is cool, no question, your guest hasn’t been there before, but if they drink their drink and think, “this isn’t great,” then you move on or the night ends. Work harder, Stir. Almost. Soon.
