I've had my grievances with Slow Boat but have always enjoyed the product they're selling. On Tuesday, it was proven to me how much different the space can be when the right people are at the taps. I was lucky enough to bag a couple of seats at the bar, the only two available upon entry, and was greeted by a talkative, smily face and a lady who knew exactly how to keep clientele warm, awake and well-nourished. It was obvious that her fellow colleagues were put at ease by her presence too – one guy was only on his fifth shift, as he told us, but was moving things along and cleaning up great thanks to careful and precise instruction.
A great addition to the team and I look forward to heading back ... in a long four hours.
