I was definitely a bit of a juice skeptic when Juice by Melissa first opened. But when Chi Fan For Charity Founder Michael Crain said he was doing a three-day cleanse -- three words I never thought I would hear him say -- I thought there might be something to it. Rather than jump in at the deep end, I tried a one-day purification cleanse.

The biggest surprise is how delicious all of the juice blends are. I was expecting six bottles of something that looked and tasted like creamed spinach mixed with a bit of apple. Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Honestly each bottle was so good I would order as a treat. Pretty easy to be healthy when what you're consuming tastes better than the crap you're trying to give up.

Not eating wasn't particularly difficult. I wouldn't say the Cashew Mylk, the sixth and final bottle of the purification cleanse, is more filling than the others, but I was still a bit hungry when I went to bed. However, when I woke up, I was fine. Not only would I order it again, I'm looking forward to it, and will definitely build it in on or after big eating occasions, like the day after Thanksgiving.

Yes, the price is a consideration. But as a replacement for one day's worth of dining out, it's not unreasonable. And for people on the fence, well, their shop near Xingfu Ercun can also use the same fine juice to make cocktails. The best of both worlds?

Mr. Dankfart is going to thing I am trolling him but.....A great juicer from JD.com is like 400rmb and you can juice the hell out of anything you woud want to...

I second that!

I got my slow juicer at Sundan for a few hundred kuai and it squeezes juices from anything you want. Go to the organic farmers' market to stock up on Beijing organic produce and safe the cash up for your overseas trips where you pay a fraction of Beijing prices for a pint of freshly pressed juice, kids.
