I made an appointment at Tata after reading several good reviews and hearing some feedback from friends who had been there. I made the appointment for 2pm on a Tuesday and when I arrived I was immediately welcomed by David, one of the managers. He was very kind and sat me in the waiting area with some cold water, and studied my hair a bit to help give me some advice, since I had no idea what type of cut I wanted. I booked the 580 kuai package, but after the staff called the stylist several times, he ended up just not showing up. I'm not sure why that happened, but throughout the whole time I was waiting, David kept checking on me and offering to set me up with another stylist for 380 kuai. Finally, I agreed, and a was set up with Mickey. He first sat me down, and with David's help translating, he studied my hair and helped me decide on the best cut. I went to the salon today totally ready to let the stylist do whatever they wanted, because my face shape is a bit difficult to cut for (very long and thin) and all previous cuts in China haven't quite suited me. Mickey took the lead and gave great advice. I was then taken for a shampoo, which included a wonderful head massage. Then, I returned to Mickey, who cut my hair while it was wet, dried it, and cut it again. I really liked how thorough he was and how he cut it so that it would look great both curly (which is my natural hair type) and straight. When he was finished, it looked incredible. During the process David continually checked in on me and helped with any translations that were needed. I asked Mickey for some advice about coloring my hair, so I will definitely be going back soon for some new color. The only part of the experience that was disappointing was the no-show stylist, but it actually worked out to my advantage as I was set up with an amazing stylist who I will definitely be visiting again. Thanks to everyone at Tata! I'll be seeing you guys again soon
