Wanting a quick and light lunch, I decided to grab a bowl (a tiny one!) of gazpacho and another bowl (quite ok size-wise) of pesto dressing veggie salad. The gazpacho was seasoned ok, though lacking in black pepper, but the onion tanginess was too much for me to handle. I think red onion would do a better job in a raw soup. The soup was ok, nothing wow though but (oh, disgrace) it had mayonnaise in it(?)!The salad consisted of one and a half heads of green asparagus spears (yes, one was cut split in half), two baby carrots, two pods of snap pea, two cherry tomatoes and the greens (rocket, red lettuce etc). You would expect a bit more (at least another 1,5 times of each of the veggies) at 68RMB, but perhaps the owners thought that the pesto dressing would make but for the price. Well, it didnt. It was mixed with overwhelmingly tasting olive oil (it kind of killed the pesto flavours) and too many pinches of salt. Accompanied the fare was by a glass of Pinotage, which helped a lot during the course of meal. However, I ordered some other wine, i was soon informed it'd sold out. Upon choosing an alternative with the very helpful maître du, I was in the end offered yet another one, as I understood from a conversation with a bartender they were out of that one too, though I was told something totally different.

All in all, I enjoyed the wine and the view more than the food itself which shouldn't be the case in a slightly up-scale resto. As I've said before, I'm waiting for something more.
