I have eaten at El Gran Bocado a few times now, and can't wait to go back again. I have ordered the chorizo tacos and the nachos on 2 separate occasions. The tacos were really good. It's so nice to be able to get chorizo in Beijing. The homemade salsa bar lets you customize your dish with new flavors. The nachos are the dish that will keep me coming back over and over again. I usually order the large and am able to polish it off. So many times restaurants will serve nachos with the chips piled on top of each other and then pour the cheese on, which means the bottom chips don't get the goods. El Gran Bocado makes sure that all the chips have a variety of flavors layered on top. Finishing with a sour cream and guacamole drizzle makes them visually pleasing as well.
In addition to the food, the drinks are really good. I've only ordered the plain margarita, but it is so good! It doesn't taste like it is from a mix, but from all the separate drinks that should be used. It tastes like it is strong but doesn't leave you feeling like it was too strong. Others in my groups have ordered the other flavors of margaritas and Slow Boat Beers, and have enjoyed them.
The restaurant is directly across from April Gourmet in Xingfucun, and worth the trip to the area. They have a decent bathroom upstairs, and also have great seating for groups and parties.
