Beetle in a Box (previously known as Waiting for Godot) is the ultimate Dongcheng hipster cafe as you might notice from the description and the previous reviews and there isn't much I can add to describing it's interior and atmosphere.
What wasn't mentioned though is that since around last November or so they have been running a 20Y for all coffees and some of the sandwiches, smartly realizing that for some people (like myself)coffee and a sandwich is not a luxury product but a daily necessity. Saying that, I wouldn't recommend coming here specially for the food or coffee if especially high-quality is what you are after. The coffee is decent and the huge tuna-sandwich in half a baguette while doing work on my computer definitely satisfy my basic daily needs.
Also worth mentioning - they have a great selection of mid-high end whiskies they sell by the glass.
