Went to Slow Boat's Tap Room last night for their Masskrugstemmen contest. BTV was there filming it. The place was packed, and all the employees/owners were really friendly and made the event a lot of fun.
I appreciated that they held a women's round, since it would have been hard to compete against some of the men who won their rounds, or the ones that kept their arms straight, anyway.
The beer is spot on, and the bratwurst was delicious. I didn't try the pretzels, but saw several others enjoying them. My new favorite is the Red Ale. It's nice and malty.
If you're heading to the tap room for the first time, take the subway, line 5, to Zhangzizhong lu. Go out exit C and walk south to the 2nd alleyway, Dongsi Ba Tiao (turn left at the barber shop) Walk for about 3 minutes, and you'll see it on the right. In a cab, just take it to the subway station and follow the directions.
