This is a review for By the Tree(couldn't find it in the directory). Went there a week or so ago and played pool with a couple of friends. After maybe two hours of play, I bounced the cue off the table on the break. The barman came to the table and asked for five quai. I told him to get lost. He persisted. I told him after spending hundreds at the bar and playing peacefully for many games there was no way he was getting five quai for a cue ball off the table. He told me spending hundreds and not paying a five-quai penalty were not related. I roundly and loudly berated him and the policy. Didn't pay the five quai. Who would? Normally I don't care about service, but this service wallowed in an egregious abyss. Crumb bum joint.

Re: Crumb Bum Bar/ Crumb Bum Owner
You're an asshole.
It clearly says if the ball goes off the table, you have to pay 5 kuai. If you weren't happy about that, you shouldn't have started playing pool. Although obviously it's not in any way legally enforceable, it's one of those things like a swear box - you should abide by the spirit of the bar if you are going to drink there.
It's to encourage dickheads who have no idea how to play pool to be careful and stop them from ruining the baize by trying jump shots or things like that. I think that's fair enough. Do you have any idea how much a baize costs to replace?
Re: Crumb Bum Bar/ Crumb Bum Owner
completely agree. the next time go and play on your phone. thats usually for free.
Re: Crumb Bum Bar/ Crumb Bum Owner
Unsportsmanlike behaviour and then complaining about service. Over a five kuai penalty? Pathetic!
