To be honest I drink at Flamme more than I eat. We go there for happy hour almost weekly, the chili raspberry martinis are the most delicious beverage you can get in Beijing. The food is great, the steaks aren't huge though so we usually only get them when they are buy-1-get-1. The snacks and sides are all great and reasonably priced but the real thing about this place is the staff.

Bob is my waiter of choice, he is a total sweetheart who remembers your name and your drink of choice, Coco is a total doll who always comes over to say "hello". Sophie is an amazing bar tender and a lovely girl to chat with. The manager is attentive, always on the floor and greets us by name each time. As regular customers they recognize us and occasionally give us some free snacks.

Yes, my friends and I spent way too much time and money there but they are genuinely nice people who work hard and understand good service. More places in Beijing should recognize the importance of great staff, start paying higher salaries and instating good training techniques like Flamme.

Props to these guys for making me so happy... though I'm a bit sad that all the cocktails just went up 10kuai.... Happy hour is still the best deal in town though.

See you soon!
