I love having a quiet breakfast/brunch here after a morning workout on the weekend. The smoothies are a good deal and not overpriced. (Last time I checked I believe it was 29RMB for a pint-sized smoothie made with REAL fruit.) The breakfast items, while limited, might be one of the biggest bargains for western food in Beijing. Scrambled eggs, homemade multi-grain bread with butter, and small cooked cherry tomatoes for 18 kuai. You can add "protein" (beans, meats, etc) for a few kuai more. If you'd prefer a sandwich, they have several types with fresh greens, veggies, or cheeses and meats, all of the homemade bread, for ~30 kuai. There's also hot porridge and a few baked items (like the yummy Apple muffin for 6 kuai). The veggies and bread are both fresh and it shows - you can actually taste them. So, if you like to actually taste your food, rather than have it swimming in sauce or be fried to a crisp, this is the place to go.
I have just two bones to pick and I hope they have or will solve them soon (last time I visited was over a month ago). Most of the time they're willing to make my drink with soy milk, but one time they didn't have any non-dairy milk and, for some reason, were not willing to modify the drink for me (I have dairy allergies). Personally, for a place that markets itself as health conscious and organic (ETC), I find it inexcusable to not have another option. I hope they have since rectified this situation, because, if not, then they will lose business from the growing health-conscious population (many of whom work and/or live in that area), and from those of us who cannot drink cow's milk.
The second thing is that the service can be kind of slow. It really depends on who you get, how many people are in your group, and what you order. Perhaps they only have one cook or only own one blender, but if you order 4 smoothies then it's going to take 30 minutes before everyone is served. Mind you, the smoothies are freaking delicious, but you are going to have to patiently wait!!!
