first its not a "cool" or "hip" place
second Why would you go out of your way to go here? it is a horrible location and at the end of the year, it is likely you get mugged in such a poor area.
the place is hostile against foreigners. sentiments changed as soon as i explained i grew in the states not beijing. i pull off a very good beijing accent.
there are plenty of other chilll places to go that are not dangerous nor lame
read the comments the owner said. a complete dick. doesnt take any responsibility nor make an effort to appologize. these are the chinese you want to avoid. not a true professional with all the bad chinese traits.

any beijing club got a better set up

alot of good live bands around gulou.

I have to make one small point here: referring to School's wudaoying hutong as a poor area where you are likely to be mugged is absolutely ridiculous. I have lived in the area for almost two years now and, in my personal experience, it is a very safe area. I have been to school and enjoyed myself a few times so I will not comment on the bar, but the area is certainly not a place where you should be afraid of being robbed.
