come for the beer and stay for the (good-natured) sass.

no seriously, come for the beer. great leap is a place where everything else is secondary to the beer, and they can get away with it because it is that good. IPAs are especially good - little general or hop god. definitely try the imperial stout when it's available and the honey ma is a seasonless stalwart.

light on luxury but long on quality, great leap is for keeps.

These people need to re-think their customer service policy. We were there late in the evening yesterday and our second round of beers came out like pond water. Warm, thick and absolutely disgusting. When we questioned the barman he just shrugged. No apology, no offer of re-imbursment. These were 40 rmb beers, and they were undrinkable. We left the beers on the table, and won't be going back.
