Review of Baoyuan Dumplings
This place is a safe and reliable choice for out-of-town guests who want to try Beijing type of food. Besides dumplings one can order common Northern style string beans, shredded/fried potatoes, eggplant, and gong bao chicken. While it may not be the cheapest in town (it's located in an area where a lot of expats live), the selection is excellent and the menus have big photos. If anyone is a vegetarian in the group they have about 5 different combinations, all listed in English on the menu. Sometimes, if you ask nicely in Chinese, they can even modify meat dumplings into vegetarian. The last meal I had there 3 of us ate many kinds of dumplings, 3 regular dishes off the menu, and 3 beers; I believe the total was ~120 kuai.
