Finally checked out the new location earlier this week. I loved the pizza at the old Kro's Nest locations, but the service often left a bit to be desired.

Not anymore - service at the new joint is brisk and courteous. A fuwuyuan was always in spitting range of our table, but the service never felt obtrusive. Kro and other manager-types kept a sharp eye on things, and even asked how our meal was a couple of times. I guess it's a bit silly to get excited about that, but you rarely get that kind of service elsewhere in Beijing.

And the pizza...damn son. Chicago-style deep dish - thick hearty slabs of greasy goodness, the way pizza should be done. My girlfriend and I split a large and had enough left over to take care of lunch and dinner the next day. We didn't check out any of the appetizers on our visit, but they did sound, well, appetizing.

My only regret is that I don't live closer to the new location. Kro - the west side of Beijing is calling.

Gotta agree, great food, service and people, wish it was a bit closer to Dongzhimen;)

I guess only Americans and Chinese love greezy pizza

Yes, being within spitting range of others is quite important while I'm eating...

Uh oh pizza-snob alert.
Let me guess, the only real pizzas are in Italy?
