Went out to Xiaoyun Lu to check out the new place while it's in its soft opening. The place in impressive and like their pizza everything is done on a large scale from the oversized arcade games to the colossal round booths or "nests".
The pizza is exactly what has been missing for months. While the debate goes on about Italian v American pizza, the reason to come here is for the style of pizza that Kro's does. You come here to satisfy the inner glutton and the pizza delivers. The medium pepperoni was more than enough for two people. The sauce, cheese, and pepperoni were all perfect, though the pepperoni does make the pizza a bit greasier. Try something else if you don't like grease, for everyone else any leftover sauce and grease is great to sop up with leftover crusts.
The menu is very much the same with some extras like desserts and single serving pizza cones. Taking a cue from all the ketchup dipping patrons, they offer dipping sauces with the pizza that can legitimately be used for dipping the crust in anything from marinara, alfredo, etc.
Some things have changed a bit. The onion rings are no longer the generic frozen kind but hand battered in a parm herb blend and delicious. Wash everything down with a few beers and this place delivers exactly what it is meant to.
