Went over there during lunch time today and straightened out the misunderstanding. I guess both parties (me and Fabian) had parts to be blamed due to language issues. Anyways, having discussed the situation, we resolved the issue amicably; he's not such a rude or arrogant guy after all. Perhaps I was the rude one and I was wrong to write such a mean review.
5 stars to Fabian for explaining his side of the story in a reasonable way!
In any case, there is still a lot of things that they can do to improve the way they market the membership to my opinion.

Horrible customer service.
Arrogant sales personnel. Or perhaps I got the most arrogant one of all. A guy that goes by the name of Fabian.
Walked into California Fitness some months ago to find out more about their facilities, etc but did not purchase their Fitness Program then.
I got a FREE one week VIP pass (from The Place's 3rd year anniversary promotion) that I never used before, so I went there today to sign up for the one week VIP free pass. Was told rudely by the sales personnel that because I visited the gym once before (just to check out what facilities they have) and did not purchase the program then, I can only use that voucher for one time only and not ONE WEEK as stated on the voucher.
His attitude was arrogant (perhaps due to the fact that he did not close the deal the last time). Anyways, I was evaluating the gym for several of my colleagues and wanted to try it out for a week to see how it is in Beijing. I have tried out the California Fitnesses in other countries and was a member in other countries before.
Subsequently spoke to the manager. They checked the system and said that I was indeed entitled to one week free VIP pass and they could issue the Pass immediately. To which I said thank you and proceeded to tear up the FREE One week VIP Voucher in front of them and said thanks but no thanks!
Perhaps Fabian was the only one with a bad attitude but being a Sales Personnel, you are front line and representing the company.
If this is how they treat "VIP"s I wonder how do the treat the regular folks.

well said.now hear this one: I asked them for a single trial entery,lady asked me to pay 200rmb deposit first so I did.so during my workout I changed my mind and didn't want to join anymore.then went to collect my deposit.they went like ok since you dont wanna join we consider your deposit as a single workout payment!they simply cheated me!plus they kept busting my balls on phone later on ...we got promotion bla bla...
